Let's get SERIOUS, ok. All of us. No exception (is it? or exemption).
I can still remember it like it was yesterday, when the so called "People Power 2" took place and ousted former President Joseph Estrada from his throne . Nine years after that historic event, I see another reason for Filipinos around the world to come together in 'FULL FORCE'. Yes, you read it right, we need another People Power. But don't get me wrong, it's not to overthrow the current administration but instead to make one of the country's pride into one of the seven phenomenal sights of the world.
For those who has been hibernating for the past four months, the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is the Philippines' entry in the worldwide poll for the "New7Wonders of Nature". It can be remembered that the Palawan's Underground River as it is popularly called became the country's lone entry when it topped last year's nomination stage. *cheers*
This year, on the ongoing second phase of the worldwide campaign, the Underground River is one of the 261 national and multinational nominees that has been classified into seven groups. The country's entry fell under the category of Forests/ National Parks/ Nature Reserves.
But, a BAD news for all--- the Underground River has slipped to the second notch in its category, with Amazon River at No.1. *sniffs* We doesn't want it to be left out, aren't we? So please I urge you and my fellow Filipinos from all over the world to take part on this long but gratifying journey of the Undergound River to be one of the "Seven Wonders of Nature".
ATTENTION TO ALL PINOY BLOGGERS: The 'Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park' needs our help. With the power of writing vested in you, spread the word to the rest of the world. By doing this, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
