Who will be the next, anyone?

It’s Mr. and Ms. Bicol University season again! Getting effin’ excited, huh?

I always anticipate for Mr. and Ms. Bicol University. It’s the only time of the year when cuties from all over the university strut their stuffs in the stage and vie for the bragging right of being Bicol University’s most gorgeous.

Last year’s winners were Joshua John Lopez and Yvette Santiago. Yvette represented the Philippines in the just concluded World Miss University held in Korea where she bagged the “Best in National Costume” award. Not bad honey, not bad.

Anyway, for sure, it’s going to be an exciting-ultra-fabulous event which would give “honor, fame and prestige” to the winners. Here are my bets in this one-hell-of-a pageant:

Photobucket

MR. BICOL UNIVERSITY 2010 - Good looking, intelligent, witty and funny, Christopher is a sure shoo-in for the final 5. But he’s facing a tough competition with that BUCENG guy so his road to victory wouldn’t be that easy. Nonetheless, I expect Christopher to do very well.

Alternate: Waylon Hank (whattaname!) Apodaca, College of Engineering

Photobucket

MS. BICOL UNIVERSITY 2010 - If they are searching for a real stunner, its Iana babe hands down! She is lovely and adorable. Add to that, she’s eloquent. What do you expect from an England-educated gal? Comes final night she will wow us more - hopefully.

Alternate: Angeli Dela Paz, College of Nursing

I’m rooting (and voting) for Tope and Iana – 100% sure. Don’t vamp a reason that because they are my friends. I totally believe that they are worthy to be supported. I’m just hoping that they won’t be robbed this year; otherwise, I’ll be disappointed.

TIP TO IANA & TOPE: Don’t be intimidated with the bashers and your fellow candidates. Instead, learn from them to do better. Yeah, take it from the expert. LOL!

Voting for Mr. and Ms. Bicol University 2010 “Most Liked in Facebook” is open until 09.23.10, 6PM. Here’s how to vote:

1. Go to the pageant’s official page in Facebook. Click “like”.

2. Then, proceed to the album page. Click the “like” button (again!) for your favorite male and female candidates.

PS. Don’t forget to vote for my bets, blogger friends!

It's getting HOT in here! *phew*

It’s betting season again. Bb. Pilipinas this time. This is one of the most heated editions of Bb. Pilipinas in history. I find it very difficult to choose from the 24 candidates because almost half of them has international caliber. C’mon, the candidates are smokin’ hot.

Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 KRISTA KLEINER

I have no doubt that she can be a great representative to Miss Universe. She has this stage presence that can immediately wow the audience. Her body is quite raw like most people complain about but she can carry herself very well. Besides, she has a gift of gab so expect her to outsmart all the girls comes final night.

NOTE: This photo of her made my ‘other’ head scream oh la la.

Bb. Pilipinas-World 2010 MARIA VENUS RAJ

A veteran in pageantry, Venus is another beauty to watch for in the finals. Believe me, she’s nice. She’s a fellow Bicol University student, different campus though. She has a very unique beauty that registers well on photographs and on television. She can just easily snatch a crown and might eventually win an international crown for the country.

Bb. Pilipinas-International 2010 NICOLETTE HENSON

Hands down! She is the face of the competition. I can’t ask for more from this lady. She’s not your typical girl-next-door beauty. She’s stylish and looks very fresh. She will certainly do well in Miss International.

Bb. Pilipinas 2010 1st RU DIANNE NECIO

She’s full of sparks and charm and anyone who would claim otherwise is a liar. Some people liken her to Miriam Quiambao, the sweet aura, the queenly stance and the beautiful Filipina complexion. She can be a big hit at MU as well but her age (she’s only 17) might hinder her from winning the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe crown.

Bb. Pilipinas 2010 2nd RU SELENA ANTONIO

She’s the Sandra Seifert of 2010. She’s one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest face for this year. She has that X-factor and not to mention a hot-as-hell body.

Completing the TOP 10 are

MARY ANN ROSS MISA

TONI ALYESA HIPOLITO

GWEN RUAIS

PATRICIA EJERCITADO

ANNA MARIE MORELOS

There you go, my Bb. Pilipinas 2010 bets. Don’t throw me the “why is she there/not there?” shit. This is my list, remember?

THE BIG DAY!

I eagerly waited for this day to come - December 09, 2009. Want to know why? Because today is the day that thousands of athletes from all over the region will gather in Vientiane for the most celebrated sporting event in Southeast Asia, the 25th Southeast Asian Games.

Yes, you read it right. For the first time in the 50 year history of SEA Games, Laos will host the biennial event. But even before it has started, controversies has stirred the 2009 Laos SEA Games. Laos has been criticized for reducing the number of events and launching few Olympic sports and as a result, many thinks that this SEA Games is just for the fame of Laos.

Even basketball, where the Philippines is a powerhouse, was scrapped in the Games. Fnck! And offers from different countries to help in hosting the event were turned down by Laos officials. Double fnck! But the worst is the issue about the collaboration between Vietnam and the host country. According to reports, Team Laos have been training in Vietnam and in order to pay back debts to Vietnam, Lao judges will decide that Team Vietnam will win almost all the events in subjective sports --- like wushu, taekwondo, karate-do, judo etc. It can be noted that in the past three SEA Games, Team Vietnam gained almost half of its gold medals from subjective sports. If reports are true: Triple fnck!

Anyway, let's give Laos the benefit of the doubt. We are not unless it happens, don't we? So far, the expected contenders for the TOP 3 spots in this SEA Games are

Team THAILAND - I'm expecting that this country will still be one of the top countries in this SEA Games. Team Thailand has been doing excellent in SEA Games which I supposed is luck running for this country in 2009 Laos Games. As a matter of fact, it is Southeast Asia's strongest powerhouse country placing 2nd in the 2001, 2003 and the 2005 Games and being the over-all champ in the 2007 Games. It seems that Thais are taking sports more seriously than us, huh.

Team INDONESIA - Traditionally, this country is the strongest powerhouse country in Southeast Asia but in recent years Team Thailand has out placed them in the top spot. But still, I'm expecting that Team Indonesia will be one of the top seeds.

Team MALAYSIA - Another country to watch out for. Team Malaysia is the 2001 SEA Games all over champ and placed 2nd in the last SEA Games.

Team VIETNAM - A TOP 3 finish is not impossible for this country. They've done it in the last two SEA Games and they are 2003 SEA Games all over champ. They are considered as Southeast Asia's newest sports powerhouse.

Team PHILIPPINES - I'm hoping that my beloved country will rebound from its lowest windup in the history of SEA Games when it placed sixth overall two years ago *keeping my fingers crossed* But hey, we got the second most number of medals after Team Thailand - 42 golds, 91 silvers and 96 bronzes. Isn't that fncken good? Team Philippines is considered a powerhouse team because all of the included athletes in the list are gold and silver medalists in the 2007 SEA Games and the others are 2008 Beijing Olympians. In fact, Team Philippines is considered as the 3rd strongest powerhouse country in Southeast Asia.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL ATHLETES!

BEAUTIES for a Cause

In a just a few momente, 79 stunning ladies will be sent into disappointment as the most deserving lady will walk away as Miss Earth 2009. Everyone has gotten their say, now, let me say mine. I want to apologize in advance if I will hurt others feeling in any way because of my comments.

In exact order, here are my babes (oops!), I mean, MY BETS.

SPAIN| Alejandra Echevarria

Spain will be represented by another goddess this year. A natural beauty with a perfect body with slightly shaped curves. Yummy! If this Iberian princess happens to reach Top 8, she only need to pull a great answer to secure the crown.

VENEZUELA| Jessica Barboza

I am pretty sure that she will have her place on the finals. She is such an eye-catching, resplendent figure of womanly delight. A far cry from Miss Venezuela - Universe 2009. OOPS! I shouldn't said that.

CUBA| Jamilette Gaxiola

OMG! I'm not a pageant expert but I know beautiful when I see one. She's definitely the face of Miss Earth 2009. She is such a stunner. She was a diamond that needed no polishing. I noticed that she is so comfortable with her beauty that it actually came through in all her candid photos. I hope this beauty will not be wasted. It's time to put Cuba in the beauty map.

PHILIPPINES| Sandra Seifert

Well, I'm one of those who are not in favor of having a back-to-back victory for the Philippines this year because it is soooo Miss Universe 2009. But, Sandra has an undeniably great personality that Miss Earth is looking for. She may not be the most beautiful delegate (facially speaking) but she has this extraordinary aura that makes her to stand out in a sea of equally stunning ladies.

USA| Amy Diaz

She is undeniably gorgeous. She is a gem of the west who will easily pick up one of the top 8 slots.

THAILAND| Rujinan Phansreetum

She is one of those heavenly beauties with a pre-possessing smile. She is another Asian to watch out for tonight. Remember that Thailand is doing a great job in Miss Earth.

CZECH REPUBLIC| Teresa Budkova

Tereza proved that Europe is rich with beauty this year. She bagged the Miss Photogenic award --- the first from Europe. Will she follow the footsteps of Priscilla Meirelles and Karla Henry who won the Miss Photogenic award and later crowned Miss Earth? POSSIBLE. Take note that she's from another Miss Earth powerhouse.

LATVIA| Diana Kubasova

I'm not a fan of her beauty but who cares? She's a press favorite, anyway.

COLOMBIA| Alejandra Castillo

Some says she looks old but for me, her beauty is exceptional. Leaving this girl out of the semifinals is a crime of the catwalk.

PARAGUAY| Gabriela Rejala

I am impressed by her sizzling body (hot! hot! hot!) and her strikingly beautiful face. There is something on her that cries a Top 4 material.

BRAZIL| Larissa Ramos

Larissa is pretty and has a sweet aura. I won't be surprised at all if she'll make it. I think she's also ready for the crown.

POLAND| Isabela Wilczek

Poland has been doing good in Miss Earth and I presume that 2009 is not an exception. I just hope that she will not be robbed in this year's edition.

JAMAICA| Jennae Dawn Jackson

Jennae had the exotic looks, the perfect caramel complexion and a body to die for. In other words, an exquisite force ready to compete with the rest.

MEXICO| Natalia Quinonez

I'm quite fascinated with her beauty. I don't know but it spells Miss Earth winner for me. She has the same grace and beauty typical of most Miss Mexico.

KOREA| Park Ye-Ju

First Miss Earth from Korea? Why not? She is cute as a button. I expect her to be one of the three Asians in this year's Top 16.

TURKS AND CAICOS| Alison Capron

This country is on the right track when they send another black stunner to grace this year's edition. I know comes final night she will surprise us in a nice way.

So, there it is. My Miss Earth 2009 bets. Puh-leez, don't give me those "why is she not there?" or "why is she there?" blah blah. Remember this is MY list.
